IGP and Attorney General ‘swerves’ court

The Center for Constitutional Order, Cencord was in court today February 19, 2018 with the IGP and AG as a nominal Defendant. Unfortunately, after serving hearing notice and all processes filed on them, the AG did not appear in court. Case adjourned to March 2, 2018. The case is a human right issue and centered on section 16 of the Criminal Procedure and Other Offences Act (Act 30). The police are to report persons arrested without a warrant to the magistrate court every month which have not been done since 1960.
